Zingy Ginger Turmeric Shot

Just looking at the sunshine colour of this powerful little shot lifts the spirits. Not only does it look good and taste good it’s also anti-inflammatory and immune-supporting.

This recipe makes approximately enough for two people for five days.

Ingredients:

  • 1 small pineapple, skin removed, cored and cut into chunks

  • 1 lemon (or lime), juice only

  • 1 tbsp MCT/coconut oil

  • 1 tbsp raw Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

  • 10 cm fresh ginger, washed and cut into chunks

  • 2 tbsp turmeric powder

  • 250ml water

Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender and blend for a couple of minutes.

Store in the fridge – it will last up to 5 days.

Shake before use, have one shot (approximately 50-60ml) a day.

Pineapple:  rich in vitamin C, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, high-fibre, aids digestion, nutrient-dense……Lemon/lime:  rich in vitamin C, increases iron absorption, antioxidant……MCT/coconut oil: antimicrobial, anti-fungal, supports gut health, promotes satiety (less snacking later!), good energy source……Apple Cider Vinegar: supports digestion, antimicrobial, helps regulate blood sugar,……Ground black pepper: helps the body absorb the curcumin in turmeric more efficiently, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory……Ginger: anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, helps regulate blood sugar, anti-obesity effects (modulates the development of fat cells), improves cognitive function, promotes digestion (and therefore gut health), anti-arthritic, helps fight infections……Turmeric: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, supports circulation and healthy blood flow, may support blood sugar balance and insulin sensitivity, may reduce symptoms of depression, supports skin health, anti-arthritic, supports liver health/detoxification.
